Jack Frost Colton, the newest addition to our family.  We rescued him from Hearts 4 Paws,. He is from the Vernal shelter and is 7 years old.  He is so sweet!

Ian Wins Again

For the second year in a row, Ian won second place in Visual Arts in the school's Reflections contest, and his friend, Isaac Branch, won first place.  We are so proud of him.  Ian's entry was a watercolor of a flower in bloom that illustrated the theme "The Magic of a Moment."

Another Fun Run Finished

The boys completed another Fun Run at Draper Elementary.  The school ended up raising $18,000 for PTA programs.  We are so proud of these two.  Running isn't really their thing, but they finish and always try their best!

Betty's 90th Birthday Celebration

This past weekend (Sept. 29) we hosted Betty's 90th Birthday Celebration.  Kim started planning it about eight months ago.  It was a beautiful evening that paid tribute to a remarkable woman.  All of Betty's sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren were there, including her oldest and dearest friends.  We held it at the Pioneer Center for the Arts Opera House in Saint George.  We are so grateful to all who attended to share the evening with us.  Here are a few photos.  Connor was on the program and played a piano solo, "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven.

Space Derby

Last night was Connor's Cub Scout Space Derby.  It is like a Pinewood Derby but with spaceships the boys have each made.  Connor made his all by himself, and had a good showing.

First Day of School 2012-13

Today is the first day of school for Connor and Ian.  Connor is in third grade and Ian is in second grade.  They are both continuing the Chinese dual-immersion program at Draper Elementary.

Peaches, Peaches, Peaches

I love fresh peaches.  And I think Kim loves peaches even more than me!

This was our last weekend before we get into the routine of school, which starts on Monday.  So we made an impromptu road trip to Brigham City to get some peaches.

Brigham City is known for growing the tastiest peaches in the state.  We're just about to have fresh peaches on some frozen yogurt!

New Teachers

The boys met their teachers at Meet the Teacher Hour today at Draper Elementary.  I love the excitement that's in our house right now.  The boys can't wait to start school on Monday and see all their friends.

Days of '47 Parade Float Preview

Tonight for Family Home Evening we went to see the floats that will be in the Days of '47 Parade on July 24.  It's become a tradition for us and it's so fun to see them up close!
