Kindness Continues

Our neighbors and friends continue to do so many kind things for our family. A young woman in our ward, Alex Saxton, brought these darling cupcakes over a few weeks ago. The boys loved them -- of course they love anything that has an Oreo cookie on top. Alex is so thoughtful and probably had no idea how much I love sunflowers. I was so impressed she wanted to do this since she is busy trying to get ready to leave for college. Thanks Alex!

Great Neighbors

Our family has been richly blessed the past few weeks since I broke my ankle. Neighbors and church members have been so good about checking on us, dropping off books to read, bringing in meals, and making special treats. I am amazed at the diverse people that have worried about me -- most of which are so unexpected. And I have loved that they have all offered kindess without being assigned. That is what has meant the most!

Change of Plans

The boys and I, along with Jolynn and Jordan, were just getting in the car Wednesday morning to head to Libby to see my mom. I was just closing the door when I missed a step and fell. I broke my ankle in two places and ended up having emergency surgery that afternoon. I broke my ankle on both sides (my right foot) and they had to use a plate and eight screws to fix it. I have to be off it for two weeks and then will be in a cast for another eight weeks. So much for our summer plans. Needless to say, the boys are very disappointed they won't get to see grandma. But they have been wonderful helpers and Kim has been the ideal nurse. Ian took this picture. He thought everyone would want to see my injury. On the bright side, I got a pedicure at Zermatt last weekend. Sure glad so many nurses and doctors got to see how good my feet look. Our old nanny, Kathy, is helping out during the days while Kim is at work. She is a tremendous help and the boys love having her back.

4th of July Weekend

We had a GREAT weekend in Midway at Zermatt Resort. It really is one of our favorite places to get away! The weather was perfect and all the Fourth of July festivities were so much fun. We did it all: swimming, mini golf, chess, face painting, carousel rides, gelato, bluegrass band, feeding the goats, pedicures at the spa, fireworks, shakes at Granny's in Heber City, and shopping in Park City. It was a relaxing and fun Fourth of July -- it may be our new tradition.

Stan's Wedding

We had a wonderful trip to Montana to attend Stan and Alice's wedding in Billings. Stan is Kim's oldest brother. It was a quick trip that covered a lot of miles and the boys were so good. We stopped and saw Scott and Cokie on the way there and it was nice to be able to visit with them for a few minutes. We stayed in West Yellowstone Thursday night and arrived in Billings in Friday. The boys had a great time playing in Shane and Gina's pool (as evidenced by the photos). And we were so happy we were able to attend the wedding. Stan and Alice seem like they are meant for eacher other. We are so happy they found one another.

Start of Our Summer Fun

We have had a great summer so far (despite the constantly changing weather). We had fun playing with Reagan and Mason, road TRAX into Salt Lake City and took Kim out to lunch, and today we saw "Toy Story 3" in 3-D. Next week we leave for Billings, Mont., for Stan's wedding. We are enjoying every minute of our summer!
