Tee-ball Season Begins

The boys started tee-ball last night. Connor and Ian are the Cardinals and their first game was against the Nationals. Tee-ball is great because both teams win and every game ends with a treat. It's also a lot more fun this year to have both the boys playing. Ian seems so little out on the field, but he does his best to run with the big boys. Our coach is very patient and it looks like it will be
a great tee-ball season!

Circus Day!

Today was Circus Day at Newcastle Preschool. The boys L-O-V-E-D it. Connor left as a little boy and came home as a ferocious lion, and Ian turned into a hilarious clown. Ian said a clown and her invisible mouse also visited the school today and entertained the students. They love preschool. Connor loves the activities and Ian loves the art projects.

Spring Projects

Finally, the weather has turned a little warmer and it actually feels like Spring, at least for today. Kim and the boys did a lot of Spring projects outside today -- including restaining the playset. The boys love to be outside with Kim. I think they got more stain on the ground than they did on the playset. No matter, they love to feel like they are helping. Too bad they won't always think this kind of work is fun!

Easter 2009

We spent Easter weekend in Santa Clara with "Grandma Betty." We had a wonderful time and the boys love any chance they have to see Grandma! The boys were so relieved the Easter Bunny found them in Southern Utah (it helped that they insisted on leaving him a note before we left). We had a great time at Scott and Cokie's for the annual Easter egg hunt and coloring eggs with red root. Enjoy some of our Easter photos.

Ian's Birthday

Today is Ian's 4th birthday. He is such a fun-loving, affectionate boy. He makes us laugh and he makes us feel loved. He melts my heart when he says out of the blue: "Mom, I love you." Kim and I are continually amazed at his creativity and unique personality. He questions everything! He looks at the world in very different ways than we do and he enjoys the simple things of life. For example, he could choose any place he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner tonight and he chose Carl's Jr. And afterward he just wanted to come home and have his Cookie Monster cake. He got his bicycle (with training wheels) for his birthday -- mostly so he can keep up with Connor. We love Ian and enjoy rediscovering the world through his eyes.

New Photos

The boys had new pictures taken a few weeks ago. They always have so much fun with Ryan Cummings when he's photographing them.  He does such a great job of capturing their personalities.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Our New Car

Our three-year lease on the Highlander was up this mnonth so we decided to buy a new car this past week. We got a new Highlander and love it! We can't lease anymore now that I'll be driving to "Nevada" every day once the District relocates its offices to West Jordan. My department is scheduled to move in mid-May so my "commute" is about to increase to 40 minutes each way. Now that we own the car we won't have to worry about the number of miles we put on it. Connor and Ian's favorite part is the DVD entertainment system. My favorite part is the built-in bluetooth system and individual heat controls. Kim's favorite part is not having any car payments. We're going to break it in next weekend when we travel to St. George to see Grandma Betty.
